Statement of Faith
We Believe:
- In the one living eternal God in three persons: God the Father; God the Son; God the Holy Spirit. He is Creator of all things. (1 John 5:7, Genesis 1:1, John 1:1 - 3, Colossians 1:16 - 17)
- In a literal 6 day creation period (24 hour days) in which God created the universe and mankind apart from any process of evolution, as stated in the Genesis account. God rested on the seventh day. (Genesis 1:1 - 2:3)
- In the verbal and plenary inspiration of the Bible as given in the original manuscripts which constitutes the preserved inerrant Word of God. These are the final authority in faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:15 - 16, 2 Peter 1:21)
- In the fall, total depravity and sinfulness of the human race. For man to be saved it necessitates the sovereign, divinely initiated deliverance of the sinner by the grace of God in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. (Genesis 3, Romans 3:9 - 18, Ephesians 2:8 - 9, Jeremiah 17:9)
- That the only way to be saved from sin’s everlasting punishment and separation from God is to receive, by faith, the forgiveness of sin offered in the gift of Jesus Christ, God’s Son. Jesus Christ died shedding His perfect blood for the forgiveness of sin. For someone to be saved from their sin they must receive Jesus Christ as their Saviour. (John 1:12, Acts 16:31, Acts 4:12, John 14:6).
- In the church as the body of Christ and its mission to fulfill the “Great Commission” of teaching/preaching, baptizing born again believers, and discipling them. (Matthew 28:19 - 20, Acts 2:41, Acts 8:12 – 13 & 36 - 38)
- In obedience to the biblical command to separate entirely from worldliness and ecclesiastical apostasy unto God. (Romans 12:1 - 2, 2 Corinthians 6:14 - 7:1)
- In the deity, virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, atoning blood, bodily resurrection and imminent premillenial coming of Jesus Christ. (Genesis 3:15, Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18 – 25, John 1:14)
- That the Lord Jesus Christ instituted the ordinance of Communion as a remembrance of His body and blood, shed for our forgiveness of sins. (1 Corinthians 11:23 - 26)
- In church discipline (ie. excommunication) as a means of correcting and restoring someone who is fallen into sin, as well as to keep the church pure to the word of God. (Matthew 18:15 -17, Galatians 6:1, 1 John 3:3)
- That God instituted the marriage union as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. (Mark 10:6 - 9)
- In the personal existence of angels, demons, and Satan. (Matthew 4:1 - 11, 1 Peter 5:8, Ephesians 6:10 - 13, Revelation 20:10)
- In the sovereign selection of Israel as God’s eternal covenant people, and He will keep all His promises to her. (Genesis 17:5 - 8; 19 - 21, Romans 11:25 - 27, Psalms 89:34 - 37)
- In a literal resurrection of the body; eternal salvation for all individuals that have received Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour and receiving a home in heaven; eternal separation and punishment in Hell for all who reject His gift of salvation and will be cast into the lake of fire for all eternity. (Hebrews 7:25, John 5:24, 14:1 - 3, Revelation 20:14 - 15, 1 Thessalonians 4:16 - 18, Philippians 3:2)
